J. David Taunton is now serving the greater Colorado Springs area. Specializing in Estate Planning and Management, Probate, Business Planning, Real Estate, and related matters.

David received his undergraduate degree from Western Carolina University in 2008.  He was the first recipient of the Outstanding Senior Award presented by Western Carolina University’s School of Natural Resource Conservation and Management.  During law school, David was twice named a Knapp Scholar, recognizing leadership, and a Dean’s Scholar, recognizing academic achievement.  He received his Juris Doctor Degree from Thomas Goode Jones School of Law in May of 2012 and was admitted to the Colorado State Bar in October of that year.  David joined the firm of Holder and Associates, PC in August of 2013 as an associate concentrating on probate administration, real estate, and business law.

David actively attends the monthly meetings for the Trust and Estate Section of the Colorado Bar Association and participates in the Statutory Revision Committee, the Uniform Trust Code Committee, and the Probate Rules and Forms Committee.  He was vice-chair of the El Paso County Probate Bar for 2014-2015 and chair of the El Paso County Probate Bar for 2015-2016.

David grew up in the small cotton mill town of Tallassee, Alabama. There he spent his time fishing and hiking the lakes and forest of the south with his grandfather. Of the many lessons he learned from his grandfather, character was among the first. Now he enjoys hiking and fishing the mountains of Colorado with his family and dog, Emmett.
